June is shaping up to be a fun month.
We’re working on not one—but three—fun events and we’d love to tell you about them.
First, on June 9, the Middlesex United Way Young Leaders Society is planning their first “Putts for a Purpose” miniature golf tournament fundraiser, to be held at Billy Tee’s at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and include golf, dinner and a beer at the first hole. They’ll have music and prizes, food and drinks. Teams or individuals are welcome, and if you come by yourself, we’ll match you up with some new friends. Sponsorships are available for Putts for a Purpose, starting at just $50. Thank you to sponsors thus far Change Inc., Financial Benefits Unlimited, The Flood Law Firm, LLC and Innovative Fitness & Wellness.

Next up on the calendar is the 8th annual Power of the Purse, hosted by the Women’s Initiative, June 23 at the Elks Club in Middletown. Their signature event of the year features a silent and live auction, dinner and entertainment.
The auction will feature handbags, totes, purses and more—hence the name Power of the Purse. Proceeds benefit the work of the Women’s Initiative to strengthen the lives of women and children in Middlesex County. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased on our website at middlesexunitedway/powerofthepurse or from any Women’s Initiative member.
If you cannot attend but wish to contribute a tax-deductible gift, or if you wish to contribute an item to the auction, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks to Liberty Bank for generously sponsoring this event for several years.
Last but not least, if you enjoy the theater, we hope you’ll join us for “Chicago” June 29 at the Ivoryton Playhouse. This event benefits the efforts of the Middlesex Coalition on Housing & Homelessness to prevent and end homelessness.
Winner of Six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival, Chicago has everything that makes Broadway great: a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz; one show-stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you’ve ever seen. Be the first to see this amazing production at the Ivoryton Playhouse. The event begins at 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, wine and desserts in the Playhouse patio tent; curtain time is 7:30 p.m. and we’ll enjoy a cordial tasting and chocolates on the patio during intermission. Tickets are $75 each for general seating or $100 for priority seating with your name listed in the program. For tickets and information, visit anendinten.org.
