Middlesex United Way's 2008/09 campaign film, LIVE UNITED, was honored with a Silver level award at the 34th Annual Connecticut Art Directors Club (CADC) Awards Show on June 18th at the Mystic Aquarium Institute for Exploration. The CADC awards is a Connecticut competition in which the state's advertising, graphic design, and other visual communications is judged.

The Middlesex United Way film was created and directed by Taylor Warren at Sunrise Pictures in Middletown. The panel of judges for the awards consisted of acclaimed photographers and designers from New York and Boston. The CADC promotes the highest standards of excellence in the visual communications arena and encourages communications professionals and students to share their creativity with one another. LIVE UNITED also received two Silver level Telly Awards for a Film/Video in the categories of Fundraising and Charitable/Not-for-Profit. A Silver Telly is the highest honor in the competition. The Telly Awards honors outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online film and video. This year, the 30th annual Telly Awards received more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and countries around the world.

Judges in the Telly Awards evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work against a high standard of merit. Nominees are judged on a 100-point scale and generally, entries with a score of 90 or higher are awarded a Silver Telly. The judging and oversight body is comprised of top advertising and video production professionals that are past winners of a Silver Telly, the highest honor, and have been chosen for membership based on their professional accomplishments.
