Food Needed at Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries
A note from Patricia M Dowling, Executive Director of the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries:
As with many food pantries in the state, and nation, The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries has experienced a 30 percent increase in the number of meals being served in 2009. This unprecedented increase coupled with dwindling supplies at our food banks, are causing our pantry shelves to be bare. We are calling on our caring community to please make a donation of non perishable food. The need is greatest at our Clinton and Old Lyme Pantries. Donations can be dropped off at the Stop & Shop in Clinton or the A&P in Old Lyme.
The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries' mission is an interfaith ministry that provides food and fellowship to people in need and educates our communities about hunger and poverty. The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries offer food and fellowship to the communities of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, East Lyme, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
