Free Foreclosure Orientation Classes through North End Action Team

Foreclosure filings in Connecticut have increased 3.4% in February when close to 2,300 filings were posted. Analysts say filings are now being driven primarily by unemployed borrowers who can't make mortgage payments. Nationwide, filings actually decreased by 2%. United Way 2-1-1 received more than 3,500 requests for services related to foreclosures in 2009, with 113 of those requests coming from people in Middlesex County.

If you are having difficulty paying your mortgage, owe past due city taxes or fear that you might be at risk of foreclosure, please attend one the North End Action Team's Foreclosure Orientation classes. The North End Action Team (NEAT), in partnership with Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven, will be presenting monthly workshops on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Green Street Arts Center.

The next classes are on: July 22 and August 26.

All workshops are free and open to anyone, although registration is required. Childcare will be provided by request.

Please call NEAT for more information and to register at (860) 346-4845 or email neat@neatmiddletown.org.
