Free Lunch?!

Attention parents! Send your children to a safe, supervised area for a free, healthy lunch and fun in the sun with friends through Community Renewal Team (CRT).

The Summer Food Service program is administered by the Connecticut State Department of Education and funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service. The program is expected to serve close to 35,000 Connecticut children this summer and is available to ensure that children in lower-income neighborhoods who receive meals during the school year can continue to receive them during the summer. Last year more than 33,000 children were served at 468 locations through 39 locally sponsored programs.

CRT will prepare and offer lunch and activities for youth in three Middletown locations:

  • Traverse Square, 44 Hamlin Street
    June 28 - August 20
  • Salvation Army, 515 Main Street
    June 28 - August 27
  • Maplewood Terrace, Community Center
    June 28 - August 27

Snacks will be served Monday through Friday, 10-10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served Monday through Friday, Noon - 1:00 p.m. Possible activities include crafts, games, and drawings. Please note there will be no lunch on July 5th.
