Dedicated to eliminating racism here and now!
Our Mission Our mission is dedicated to working towards the elimination of racism. We will achieve our mission by providing opportunities to develop unity (fairness and equity) and facilitating collaboration that promotes a stronger community.
Who We Are The Healing Racism Coalition (HRC) was founded in 2000 (as the Institute for the Healing of Racism) by concerned community members with the belief that racism in the most powerful and persistent obstacle to the attainment of a just and peacefull society.
We are a diverse group of men and women committed to eliminating racism here and now. We come from many different communities, workplaces, and backgrounds. We share a passion for building a healthier community and welcome others to join us in meeting our mission.
How We Operate The Coalition elects a Steering Committee that is responsible for planning and management of Coalition activities. We have committees working on program development, marketing and dialogues. We welcome newcomers to help us. Part time staff support is provided by Middlesex United Way and is paid for by fees generated by workshops and dialogues. We are indebted to our partners and sponsors who supported our initial efforts and continue to help in the elimination of racism.
What We Are Doing We offer educational presentations to groups and sponsor Healing Racism Dialogues to address the terrible effects of individual, organizational, and societal racism. We also plan and initiate activities to bring individuals and groups of people together in comfortable settings to share experiences while facilitating better understanding of each other. Come join us!
Healing Racism Dialogues HRC offers two-day Dialogue Sessions throughout the year to help individuals understand racism and to foster racial unity within the community.
