Middlesex United Way and the Middlesex County Community Foundation
to Collaborate on Board Diversity at Non-Profit Organizations
Middlesex United Way has received a grant for $2,500 from the Middlesex County Community Foundation. The purpose of the grant is to increase the number of people of color serving on Boards of Directors of United Way funding partners therefore, making the non-profit groups more effective and responsive to the needs of people, regardless of race or ethnicity.

The program is a collaboration between United Way and the Community Foundation. Increasing board diversity will be achieved through a survey of current board compositions, the education of non-profit groups and other grant makers, and outreach to individuals to make them aware of opportunities to serve on local boards. Middlesex United Way's Volunteer Center will participate in recording and tracking those who are interested and committed to serving on boards.
