Middlesex United Way Announces Community Impact Grant Opportunity!

 

Middlesex United Way seeks grant applications from new organizations to fund work in Middlesex County that work within established Impact Areas of Racial Equity & Inclusion, Education, Financial Stability, Housing, Wellness, and Youth Development. Community Impact focuses MUW resources on the needs that matter most to the people of Middlesex County.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3). Funds are restricted for work serving the communities and constituents of Middlesex County. Middlesex United Way Community Impact Grant funds cannot fund capital expenditures, scholarship programs, or any third party or contract. All grant funds must be spent on the intended purpose. Eligible organizations can apply for $5,000 - $30,000. Applications are reviewed and scored by volunteers and staff.

 

      Application Opens: January 19, 2024
      Last day to request application review meeting: March 8, 2024
      Last day to submit final application: March 29, 2024

 

 

  • Electronic packet that includes grant criteria, key dates, staff contacts is sent to CEO/Executive Director/President, and attendees of Partner Breakfast.
  • Application in Microsoft Word format must be emailed to Madison Baranoski – you’ll receive a confirmation email upon receipt. 
  • Qualified applicants will have a Zoom meeting with staff and volunteers. 
  • Currently-funded partners (FY 2023-2024) may request a review of their draft application. To request a review and meeting, applicants must submit drafted applications before 5:00 PM on March 8, 2024. Review meetings will be scheduled no sooner than one week after submission, but not after March 15. These reviews and meetings will be scheduled as time and capacity of staff and volunteers allow. All meetings will be held via Zoom. We suggest submitting drafts as soon as possible.
  • Organizations can submit one application per Impact Area. 
  • Organizations can request funding amounts between $5,000 and $30,000 per application.
  • Applications must clearly demonstrate how funds are staying within Middlesex County.
  • Needs Statement: Provide current data and documentation illustrating the community’s need for the work you provide and to which populations. 
  • Returning partners will need to demonstrate they’ve executed all parts of the FY 2023-2024 Funding Partner Criteria and Agreement, including promoting MUW as a funder and conducting a Workplace Campaign. 

All applicants will be required to attend one of the virtual informational sessions scheduled for February 7, 2024.
