Middlesex United Way: Thanksgiving project distributes 973 baskets

MIDDLETOWN — This year marks another successful Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project.

Despite the unprecedented challenges we were faced with, I’m happy to say MCTP made it through another year of ensuring families and individuals in our community had a warm holiday meal to enjoy with one another. Due to the current pandemic, we knew the logistics to put on such a large food drive were going to be different, so we are especially grateful for the various individuals, schools, organizations, businesses, churches and nonprofits who came together to prepare 973 baskets of food for the holiday.

This year, we had over 100 people volunteer to register, prepare and hand out the baskets, and over 70 businesses/organizations donated food, time or money to make it go so smoothly. So, on behalf of the Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project, I’d like to dedicate this week’s column to thanking all of you.
