2025 Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project

MCTP

MIDDLETOWN, CT- The Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project is once again looking to support families in need of Thanksgiving meals this holiday season. Registration opens on Monday, October 27, 2025, and will run through the week prior to Thanksgiving.

The Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project was established to ensure that every family in Middletown has the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal, regardless of their financial situation. This year, volunteers with the Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project (MCTP) plan to assemble approximately 1,000 baskets filled with holiday staples for local families.

Individuals and families may register for a basket in person at Amazing Grace Food Pantry (16 Stack Street, Middletown) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30am to 4:00pm starting on October 27th and ending on November 21st. Individuals will also have the ability to register at Russell Library (123 Broad Street, Middletown) on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:30-7:30pm.

To register, individuals must provide proof of Middletown residence (or be a regular shopper at Amazing Grace Food Pantry) and an ID for each family member. Acceptable forms of ID include: a birth certificate, a medical card, social security card, driver’s license, as well as a DSS or housing listing. Proof of Middletown residence may include: a utility bill, lease agreement, rental receipts, a driver’s license or Connecticut ID.

Basket pickup will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Fellowship Church (1002 Saybrook Road, Middletown). This year’s pickup will again be a drive-through distribution—participants are asked to have their ticket ready and remain in their car. A walk-up area will be available for those arriving by bus.

“Thanksgiving is such a joyful time and we’re so glad that we’re able to help the people in our community,” said Lara SantaMaria, Event Coordinator for the Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project. “It’s important to us that the people who receive baskets feel respected. We want them to feel celebrated and that we’re glad they’re a part of our community.”

The Middletown Community Thanksgiving Project is accepting monetary donations to purchase both food and non-food items. If you’d like to contribute, checks can be made to “MCTP” and sent to MCTP, c/o Fellowship Church, 1002 Saybrook Road, Middletown, CT 06457. If you’d like to volunteer or contribute in another way, please contact Lara SantaMaria at Fellowship Church by calling 860-346-1181 or by email at MCTP2013@yahoo.com
