There are several types of evidence-based practice papers . Some are called systematic reviews, and evaluate the research according to the guideline or gold standard in practice. These papers are designed to make sense of the large amounts of information available, and can help nurses implement change, institutionalize, and improve patient care. In writing an EBP paper, the first step is to develop a research question or hypothesis that outlines the scope of the paper and suggests the desired changes in practice. The second step is to assess the reliability of the research study by comparing it with relevant peer-reviewed articles.
